Rough and Tumble End to Schrader's Batesville Weekend

Ken Schrader kicked off the eighth annual Race for Hope Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Ark.) on Thursday night.

Against a field of 51 IMCA Modifieds Ken finished fifth in his heat race, which relegated him to a B-Main. Unfortunately in the consolation event, he was unable to reach a transfer spot, and his night came to an early end.

On Friday night Ken fared far better than the previous night. After racing to a second-place finish in his heat race, Schrader charged from 10th to a fourth-place finish in the prelim feature behind Tom Berry Jr., Peyton Taylor, and Garrett Taylor.

Ken raced into Saturday night's finale, where he started 15th. Early in the feature he was up to the 11th position before contact from another competitor caused Schrader to flip. Luckily he was uninjured but done for the night in the 23rd position.
